§ Mrs. ChalkerNo. This would run counter to the recommendations of the Pearson Commission on Civil Liability on Compensation for Personal Injury, that compensation for road accident victims should continue to be available through the tort system, and should be improved through the social security system rather than by changes in the law of liability. The Government are still considering these recommendations.
