asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they support the establishment of a nuclear weapon-free zone in the Middle East in compliance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution 35/147, and whether they will initiate action in the Security Council to advance its establishment as recommended by the Working Group of the Committee on Disarmament.

We have consistently supported the establishment of a Middle East nuclear weapon-free zone. But in our view it is for the states of the region to take the initiative, whether in the Security Council, or elsewhere.
