HC Deb 30 July 1982 vol 28 c868W
Mr. McKelvey

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his latest estimate of the cost of each pressurised water reactor of the type proposed for Sizewell at current prices.

Mr. John Moore

[pursuant to his answer, 24 May 1982, c. 241]: I have been advised by the CEGB that due to an error in the cost of initial fuel quoted in the board's statement of case for the Sizewell B PWR the information given to the hon. Member on the cost of the station was incorrect. The CEGB advises that the correct estimated cost of the station is £1,206 million (including initial fuel) a reduction of some £17 millions on the figure given in the previous answer. A correction to the statement of case will be issued shortly.
