HC Deb 30 July 1982 vol 28 c823W
Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will set out the reasons for his reversal of the decision of his Department's planning appeals inspector in the past few months in the area of the Harborough district council on four occasions, permitting in each case development to take place which his inspector and all the local authorities involved considered unsuitable.

Mr. Giles Shaw

I know of only one such decision. This was an appeal against refusal to allow the residential development of land at "The Wranglands', Fleckney. The inspector's only reservation against allowing the appeal related to the provision of off-site surface water drainage; it proved possible to meet this point and my right hon. Friend therefore saw no ground for rejecting it. If my hon. Friend would care to write to me about the other cases I will look into them.
