§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what will be the salary which will be paid to Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly; and whether it is intended that the amount of salary will depend on the extent of the devolved powers of the Assembly.
§ Mr. PriorDetails of salaries to be paid to Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly will be announced shortly. The amount of salary is not dependent on the extent of the powers devolved to the Assembly. Following the Assembly election on 20 October each elected Member will be entitled to draw his salary after he has taken his seat and signed the roll of Members.
