HC Deb 28 July 1982 vol 28 c597W
Mr. Renton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he is yet in a position to make a statement on the future of the fair wages resolution.

Mr. Tebbit

Following the consultations of which I told the House on 26 May, the Government have decided that after the recess we shall invite the House to rescind the fair wages resolution. The Government will at the appropriate time notify the International Labour Office of the United Kingdom's intention to denounce International Labour Convention No. 94, which concerns labour clauses in public contracts.
