§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what capital grants and what revenue grants were made to which local authorities in England and Wales for the purpose of developing their capacity to deal with accidents, disasters or other civil emergencies in their areas in the fiscal years 1970–71 to 1981–82 inclusive.
§ Mr. MayhewSpecific grant is not paid on local authority expenditure in peace-time emergency planning, which attracts rate support grant in the normal way. Much of the war planning supported by civil defence specific grant is applicable to peace-time emergencies.
