§ Mr. RidleyFrom 1982–83, relief from a charge to income tax is available to those earnings below £8,500 a year when their employer bears the expense of insurance against the cost of medical treatment. The revenue cost in a full year is estimated at about £4 million at 1982–83 income levels.
