§ 44. Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will make a statement on the operation of those sections of the Education Act 1980 which improve parental choice over schools for their children; and whether he is satisfied with progress to date.
§ Dr. BoysonThese sections apply for the first time to admissions to take place next September and it is too soon to judge their full effect. It is, however, good to see the increased weight being given to parental preference in the new arrangements.
