§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether any assurances on job security following the proposed merger of the New University of Ulster and Ulster Polytechnic have been given to members of staff of either institution.
§ Mr. ScottI am content that, in its planning of the new university institution, the steering group should proceed on the basis of its advice to me that, subject to certain conditions, it should be possible to offer employment, without drop in salary, to all those who, on the day of the changeover, are employed by either institution.
