§ Q27. Mr. Raceasked the Prime Minister what representations have been made by Her Majesty's Government to the South African Government in the past month to secure the release from detention of Mr. David Kitson.
§ The Prime MinisterWe are in regular touch with the South African authorities over various aspects of Mr. Kitson's case including the possibility of early release. We were informed last month that his case will be considered under the review of security prisoners' sentences announced by the South African Minister of Justice on 12 May. We shall continue to pursue this matter.
