§ Mr. Peter WalkerWith my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales I am considering, in the light of comments received on the consultation documents issued last year, what steps are necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of fish disease. In the meantime full use is made of the powers available under the Diseases of Fish Act 1937 to control notifiable diseases of fish, including the current outbreak of whirling disease in England and Wales.
