HC Deb 08 July 1982 vol 27 c179W
Sir Bernard Braine

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what was the policy adopted by Her Majesty's Government in the Council of Ministers following its receipt of the resolution of the European Parliament agreed to on 11 July 1980 condemning violation of human rights and international law by the military regime in Argentina.

Mr. Onslow

The particular events raised in the European Parliament resolution of 11 June 1980 have not been discussed by the Ten.

The Ten have made clear their concern about violations of human rights in Latin America and in particular in Argentina on many occasions. They have done so both in international organisations and in direct contacts with the countries concerned. The United Kingdom has played a full part in these representations.
