§ Baroness Davidasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether the guarantee of training to all minimum age school-leavers who are unemployed during their first year after leaving school applies to those who leave in July as well as those who leave in May if they have reached the age of 16 before the end of May.
The Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Earl Ferrers)It is envisaged that an early offer of training in the Youth Training Scheme will be guaranteed to unemployed young people leaving school during or at the end of the summer term, if they become eligible to leave at the minimum leaving age during the term.
