How prisoners will get to know about future amendments to Standing Order 5 when these are made by circular instruction to prison governors.

Amendments to Standing Order 5 will be made available to inmates in the libraries of establishments. Revised editions of the bookletCommunications in prison, which is available for purchase by inmates, will be issued if substantial amendments are made to Standing Order 5.
