§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergI appreciate the need for efficient and effective signposting and the difficulties that can arise, especially where new district general hospital facilities replace local units. However, my right hon. Friend and I consider that this is best left to the discretion of district health authorities and local highway authorities, in the light of local needs and circumstances. The prescription and authorisation of traffic signs is, of course, a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport.
