§ 21. Mr. Alexander W. Lyonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what guidance he gives to police committees in respect of their power to determine the policy of policing in their areas and the amount of money to be allocated for that purpose.
§ Mr. MayhewHome Office guidance, such as that we intend on local consultative arrangements, following Lord Scarman's report, is given from time to time to assist police committees and chief officers to fulfil their respective statutory roles within a framework of national policy.
