asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is still his intention to proceed with the taxation of invalidity pensions; and whether he can confirm that the pension will he brought into tax before April 1984.

As my right hon. and learned Friend said in his Budget Statement last year, we have decided to postpone for the time being our intention to bring invalidity benefit into tax. No date is fixed for this at present.
