§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, whether he has studied the estimate made by the National Farmers Union of Scotland that an increase of 16 per cent. in EEC farm support prices is required to enable British farmers to cope with increased production costs and to raise incomes to the official target level; if he will make a comparable estimate; and if he will take steps to secure a satisfactory agreement for the British agriculture industry.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe economic condition and prospects of the agricultural industry are being examined in the annual review of agriculture and will be borne in mind in the forthcoming common agricultural policy price negotiations.
