Mr. Meacher

asked the Attorney-General, of those complaints against the police alleging assault which were referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions in the last year, in how many cases there was at least one witness and in how many the complainant and policeman concerned were alone involved; and, in each case, in how many instances the Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted and in how many he decided not to do so.
