§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will institute an inquiry into the death of Mr. Ian Shackleton at Medomsley detention centre, with particular reference to his arrest and transport from Keighley; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MayhewAn investigation in accordance with section 49 of the Police Act 1964 has already taken place into a complaint about Mr. Shackleton's treatment by the police. The report of the investigation has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, and will in due course be considered by the Police Complaints Board.
