§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Energy on how many occasions the powers available under section 12W 3 of the Petroleum Production Act 1934 and section 4 of the Mines (Working Facilities and Support) Act 1966 have been used by himself or his predecessors in order to seek to obtain the necessary freedom from common rights in order to allow a site to be worked for petroleum or mineral extraction.

Member for New Forest (Mr. McNair-Wilson) on 9 February—[Vol.17, c.306.] None of the stated references made to the High Court under the Mines (Working Facilities and Support) Act 1966 resulted from an application made pursuant to the provisions of section 3 of the Petroleum (Production) Act 1934.
