§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why Her Majesty's Government response to the Select Committee's report on Welsh language television was not published in the Welsh language; and what the extra cost of it being so published would have been.
§ Mr. MayhewThe Command Paper—Cmnd. 8469—containing the Government's and the broadcasting authorities' observations on the second report of the Committee on Welsh Affairs—Session 1980–81, H.C. 448–1— was published only in English because the report itself was published only in English.
It is estimated that the additional cost of translating the observations into Welsh and publishing them as part of the Command Paper would have been about £2,500.
