asked the Prime Minister if she will visit the North West to discuss the unemployment and economic situation with the North West Regional Development Association.

The Prime Minister

I have at present no plans to do so, though I did visit parts of the region last month.

My hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department of Industry had a useful meeting with representatives of the North West Industrial Development Association on 2 February, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry will be meeting industrialists and others in the North West on both Friday 12 February and Friday 19 February.
