§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what further action he is taking to ensure proper application of the Reservoirs (Safety Provisions) Act 1930.
§ Mr. Giles ShawI shall be issuing a circular letter and questionnaire on the subject to local authorities tomorrow. I have deposited a copy in the Libraries of both Houses.
As soon as local authorities have responded fully to the questionnaire, I shall hope to be able to make a better general assessment of the position. It remains my view, however, that there is no cause for concern on matters of reservoir safety.
