§ Mr. David Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will seek to extend the legal aid scheme in Scotland to cover an appeal against an initial decision of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
§ Mr. RifkindAssistance may be available from the legal aid (Scotland) fund for legal advice and assistance in the preparation of an appeal, subject to the applicant's financial eligibility. Representation at the hearing itself, however, would not be eligible for legal aid under present statute.
