§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department for how long the one man given an immediate sentence of imprisonment for drunkenness in 1981 was sentenced; where he was held; and for how long.
§ Mr. Mayhew[pursuant to his reply, 2 December 1982, c.285]: Further investigation has shown that this man's offence was wrongly classified: he was found guilty of disorderly behaviour while drunk during the period of a conditional discharge order and a sentence of 14 days' imprisonment was imposed for the earlier offence. A further seven days was imposed in default of payment of a fine for his drunkenness offence. He was received into Leeds prison and served a total of 16 days.
