Sir Geoffrey JohnsonSmith asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is yet able to publish the detailed specification of the C-MAC system which he has adopted as the standard for direct broadcasting by satellite in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. WhitelawGood progress has been made in drawing up the specification. Before it is approved further detailed discussions with the relevant interests are however desirable. I now expect to be able to publish the specification early in the new year.
