§ Mr. Peter MorrisonOn 1 December 1982, 9,538 staff were employed in jobcentres and 1,207 staff in managing jobcentre operations, including headquarters staff. Of these 7,899 were concerned with placing work. During the year ending 5 November 1982 1,532,623 placings were made through jobcentres so that on average 194 placings were made for each member of staff connected with placing work.
