Mr. J. Enoch Powellasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he expects to publish proposals for a draft Order in Council extending to Northern Ireland the new regulations in Great Britain on lorry safety, dimensions and weights.
§ Mr. David MitchellThe Northern Ireland provisions for lorry safety, dimensions and weights will be included in a statutory rule to amend the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1976. These provisions will, like the regulations for Great Britain, come into effect on 1 May 1983.
