There are no comprehensive statistics on redundancies. The number of redundancies in 447W the motor vehicle manufacturing industry—minimum list heading 381 of the 1968 Standard Industrial Classification—in the Birmingham travel-to-work area, notified as due to occur between 1 January and the end of October* 1982 is 2,555. Of these, 601* were due to occur since 1 September 1982.
