§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will publish in the Official 278W Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for a contribution to the 1982 general programme budget to be used for the provision of assistance for those refugees from Central America living in countries other than their own.
§ Mr. Neil MartenWe propose to contribute £100,000 to the UNHCR budget to assist Central American refugees living in countries in the region other than their own. Parliamentary approval to this new service will be sought in the winter Supplementary Estimates of the overseas aid Vote. Pending that approval, the necessary expenditure will be met from a repayable advance from the Contingencies Fund.
