§ Mr. MellorFollowing the advice of ACORD my Department has made a substantial cut in the level of support for wave energy research and has further decided that the most effective way to use the remaining limited funds is to concentrate effort on two of the present research centres. The wave energy device developed by Queen's university, Belfast, like the majority of devices in the previous programme, will not be given further support by my Department. However an allocation of research funds to Queen's university, Belfast may be appropriate for work relevant to those devices which have been selected for support.
