§ Mr. MayhewIt has been the regular practice for Home Office Ministers to visit the islands to maintain good relations between the island authorities and the United Kingdom Government, to improve our understanding of the islands' problems and policies and to provide an opportunity for informal exchanges on a wide range of topics. My noble Friend's recent visits were valuable in achieving these objectives.
