§ Mr. Trotterasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on his proposal that a number of firms of accountants be asked to take part in the experimental use of new corporation tax returns for companies.
§ Mr. WakehamAbout 250 firms of accountants, from all parts of the country, will be invited to take part in the trials of the experimental return form. The invitations will be issued during January, and the trials will take place between March and May. Accountants who accept the invitation to take part will be asked to complete a small number of experimental returns for company clients, and, at the end of the excercise, to give their views on the form and some of the issues that it raises. It is hoped that about 1,500 experimental returns will be completed altogether. A number of representative bodies and companies will also be approached for their views.
