HC Deb 06 December 1982 vol 33 c365W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister for Trade if the voluntary restraint agreements concluded between the Common Market and third countries on steel imports make any provision for the distribution of these agreed quotas to particular member States of the Common Market.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to the reply, 29 November 1982, c. 63]: Only the voluntary restraint arrangements negotiated with the State trading countries of Eastern Europe have precise ceilings for imports into individual member States. Those negotiated with market economy countries provide for the maintenance of traditional patterns of trade by region within the Community but do not allocate specific tonnages to particular member States.
