There are no comprehensive statistics on redundancies, and the industrial classification used for redundancy statistics does not permit the figures to be broken down into exactly the industries requested, except at disproportionate cost.
The available information on the number of redundancies, involving 10 or more employees, notified to the Manpower Services Commission as due to occur during the last 12 months in these industries in Great Britain, is given in the following table.
