HL Deb 02 August 1982 vol 434 c674WA
Lord Allerton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether any progress has been made regarding road improvements on Wardley Hill (on the A.47 some three miles to the west of Uppingham) now that the Uppingham by-pass has been completed ahead of schedule.

The Earl of Avon

No. Following my right honourable friend, the Secretary of State for Transport's announcement last year of the preferred route, work on the preparation of the scheme was temporarily suspended until there is a reasonable prospect of fitting it into the trunk road programme.
