§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Wales, further to the answer of 18 March, Official Report, column 160, if he will estimate the numbers for Wales of (a) children who are of an age where the health of their teeth may benefit from fluoridated water supplies living in areas where that water is fluoridated and (b) the numbers of persons over 16 years of age whose teeth cannot benefit.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsPrecise figures are not available but the best estimate is that just over 10 per cent. of children in Wales are in areas where water supplies are fluoridated. I am advised that for people with natural teeth the benefits of fluoridation persist into adult life.
