HC Deb 05 April 1982 vol 21 c255W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what will be the estimated cost of the investigations recommended by the chief supplementary benefits officer to check on the 21-hour rule.

Mr. Newton

Neither the chief supplementary benefit officer nor this Department has recommended any special investigations following the CSBO's recent memorandum on the 21-hour rule. New applications for benefit will be considered in the light of the CSBO's revised guidance on the interpretation of the relevant Regulation, but existing cases will be examined only when they come up for review in the usual way. No significant extra cost is expected to be incurred.
