§ Mr. NewtonThe summary of statistics of unemployment benefit claimants is normally produced half-yearly, from a 5 per cent. sample survey made in May and November. Because no such surveys were made last year, as a result of industrial action, an additional survey was made on 11 February 1982, and the summary should be available by July. The less detailed quarterly analysis of registered unemployed claimants, also as at 11 February, should be available later this month.
