§ Mr. Hannamasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement about the future of pool competitions run under the Pool Competitions Act 1971.
§ Mr. WhitelawI intend to lay a draft order extending the Pool Competitions Act 1971 for a further year from 26 July 1982, and to lay further annual orders as necessary during the lifetime of this Parliament pending the introduction of legislation designed to deal permanently with these competitions. Meanwhile I have placed in the Library of the House a copy of a discussion document on the future of pool competitions which is being sent to relevant organisations.
