asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East, Official Report, 28 July, column 388, if he is yet able to make a statement on changes in the guidance issued to prison staff about suicides and attempted suicides.

A circular instruction was issued to staff in August. A copy is in the Library of the House and I sent the hon. Member a copy on 4 September.
