§ Miss Richardson asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is his policy on the proposal of the Dental Strategy Review Group that dental therapists should retrain as dental hygienists;
§ (2) what alternatives would be made available for the training of dental therapists if New Cross school is closed;
§ (3) if he concurs with the proposal of the Dental Strategy Review Group that New Cross school, which trains dental therapists, should be closed.
§ Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg:We are consulting widely on the recommendations in the Dental Strategy Review Group report and the views of interested bodies and individuals will be taken carefully into account before any decisions are made on the future of the New Cross school or on arrangements for training or re-training dental therapists.
