HC Deb 20 October 1981 vol 10 c101W
Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations have been received over the changes in the payment of supplementary benefit to school leavers; whether he will now consider reverting to the former position over payments; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Chalker:

Since the new scheme started we have received about 270 letters from hon. Members, educational, careers and local authority interests, and members of the public. There have also been some 20 parliamentary questions and an Adjournment debate on the subject. The matter is currently under consideration.
