asked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the value of trade between the United Kingdom and South Africa for the financial years 1970–71 to 1980–81, broken down into visible and invisible trade.

Estimates of the United Kingdom's total invisible transactions with South Africa are not available, nor are details of visible trade in the financial year 1980–81. The value of visible trade in the earlier years in question was as follows:
