HC Deb 20 October 1981 vol 10 c102W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he proposes to reduce or eliminate discrimination of treatment between the sexes in the system of social security benefits.

Mr. Rossi

Changes in the treatment of men and women in social security which were made in the Social Security Act 1980 are due to come into effect in November 1983 and November 1984. As the hon. Gentleman knows, the Department is also reviewing the household duties test for married women claiming non-contributory invalidity pension.
