Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he proposes to take to launch a regional waste disposal strategy in Wales.

Mr. Michael Roberts:

In its recent report on hazardous waste disposal the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology included as one of its recommendations a proposal to group waste disposal authorities into waste disposal regions. The report is receiving consideration and the Government's response will be made in due course.
