§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received from the Association of District Councils about the powers of highway authorities to control development.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe association has generally welcomed the proposed changes in the powers of highway authorities in England and Wales to control development and has made suggestions as to how these may be modified. I shall give careful consideration to these suggestions and to those from other interested bodies before reaching a final decision.
