§ Mr. Bruce-GardyneThirty-four of the 41 applicants for the post of Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies stated that they had learnt of the post through public advertisements. There were eight candidates on the final short-list, of whom five were responding to advertisements. Twenty-six of all the applicants and five of the candidates on the short-list possessed legal qualifications.
